As the new school year is underway, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District is zeroing in on one specific concept.

According to ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe, the school board reviews their radical leadership reset prior to the upcoming school year. The reset allows the board to identify components pertaining to leading within the school district. Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this year, the key area is on literacy.

“We think that’s really mission critical for us, and we’ve seen some remarkable gains in proficiency levels for our students in the areas of reading. In fact, we’ve decreased the percentage of students who are not proficient in reading by 50 percent over the last three years.”

Dufoe adds that combining with their radical leadership reset, the board takes into consideration the goal from a student achievement perspective. He notes that the school district wants to continue to lean into areas that will be beneficial to students at ADM Schools.
