The Perry Public Library is debuting a new program for senior citizens to start in September.

The library is altering their fresh conversations educational program going forward. According to Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer, the final fresh conversations session is happening September 25th. However, a new senior group including activities focusing on fitness is gearing up to start this coming Wednesday. Farmer reveals more behind this decision.

“We found out recently is that fresh conversations is not going to have its funding anymore, so they’re going to be transitioning away from that aging resources, but one of the things that people have really talked about is that they really value that time and space.”

Farmer encourages guests to come to the initial meeting to pick a name for the program, which will be a weekly occurrence, plus offer ideas for future topics or activities. The event is a free service that is available for adults 55 years or older, with no registration required. Any questions can be directed to the Perry Public Library at (515)-465-3569, or click here.
