It’s the season opener for the Greene County High School cross-country runners later today in Gowrie on the Municipal Golf Course hosted by Southeast Valley. Veteran Coach Jeff Lamoureux has two-time State Meet qualifier Noah Hinote leading the boys’ team, which has about a dozen members, which is enough for a varsity and JV. The girls started the season with seven, which is enough to field a varsity team.

SEV’s meet has 17 teams of boys and 17 of girls scheduled to compete. High temperatures today in Gowrie are expected to be around 90 with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. The boys are scheduled to run at 5 p.m. with the girls to follow. Raccoon Valley Radio will keep you informed of any weather related changes.
