Football players for Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School are fine tuning certain areas ahead of the season opener tomorrow.
Senior Tight End Grant Jansen, who also plays Defensive End, is doing heavy lifting in the weight room. During the week of the game, Jansen’s mentally locks in beginning on Monday.
“I’m making sure I’m watching film on the other team, just throughout the week, and then really by the time Friday is its just going out there giving it my all. I mean I usually try to remind myself a few things that might help us be even more successful.”
Jansen says that he takes that same mindset outside of football too.
“Doing something now that’s going to benefit you maybe not in the next day or so, but maybe it’s going to be a month down the road or something like that. So, just learning to work now for something later down the road.”
Jansen is hoping he can catch some touchdown passes as he reveals that he doesn’t have one under his belt. ADM opens the season tomorrow in Adel taking on Newton at 7pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, beginning shortly after 6pm.
