The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

Finance Director Rob Tietz relayed to the board that Turner Construction informed him that the new administration building in Adel is set to open on October 4th to move the supervisors into. 

Other items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution regarding a compensation board reinstatement, a resolution for a commercial plan review fee as presented, a change order in the amount of $40,973 for the courthouse restoration project as well as a pay application for $17,812.50. Also, a notification to the commissioner of elections to submit a question to the registered voters to increase the number of supervisors from three to five was approved as presented.

Dallas County Engineer Al Miller gave a roads update concluding that 27 culverts have been placed and 70 miles of resurfacing has been completed in the county. Three right of way purchase agreements in relation to the Dawson Road project were approved. The first was between Dallas County and Kimberly Anderson for 403 square feet for $661.20, then two parcels between the county and the Rothfus family, then the county and Kristi Powers for a total of $1,992. 

Turner Construction shared information on the bond referendum in the amount of $56,900,000 for the new criminal court building in Adel, and the plan is to begin the legwork in early 2025 with an estimate of the project to last two years. Finally, a public hearing for the Polk County Supplemental Foods Program Memorandum of Understanding for September 10th at 9:30am.
