The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Volleyball team is a day closer to beginning the season, as Head Coach Trevor Irwin reveals the goals for the upcoming year.

Irwin tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s ecstatic about the 2024-25 Tigers’ team with a good amount of girls returning from the state-qualifying squad from a year ago. He message to ADM in 2024 is to simplify the game.

“We don’t want to overcomplicate things. We don’t want to dig too far deep right now, we have a long season ahead of us, when it comes to practice, and as long as we’re playing at a good high level at practice, as long as we’re setting that standard high, we think that the volleyball will just follow suit.”

Irwin emphasizes to the girls that the goal isn’t to be perfect, but to be good over time. He mentions that a lot of different things happen within a volleyball game, and taking it one step at a time is a method to lead to success.

The first game is coming up tomorrow in Adel as the Tigers host Harlan Community at 4:30pm, Des Moines Christian at 5:30pm, and Woodward-Granger at 6:30pm.
