The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is going to offer flag football once again for the younger kids.

JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral says flag football is for first through third graders and will be held on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm at Kelso Park. He points out that they continue to host this program for kids to understand the basics of the sport through a non-contact environment. He notes that it also promotes physical activity, teamwork, and social skills.

Kral says about 49 kids participated last year and that there will be 2 to 3 coaches per team. The registration fee is $20 for Greene County Community Center members and $25 for non members, which includes a t-shirt. The deadline to register is August 27th.
