The West Central Valley School Board will meet in regular session tonight.

The Board will consider for approval 2024-25 Professional Learning Community and mentors, 2024-25 extra duty contracts for summer coaches, open enrollment and the 2024-25 fee schedule. They will also consider for approval a quote from United Truck and Body for repairs to a school bus, a quote for a truck for the district, professional design and service agreements from SiteLogiQ, and the second reading of the Board policy review.

The Board will then consider for approval 2024-25 handbook changes for the high school, middle school, elementary school and preschool, and discuss upcoming dates including a Board workshop on August 29th and the next regular Board meeting on September 18th. This will be High School Principal Randy Martin’s second meeting with the district as their new principal for the 2024-25 year. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s excited to get the year started, and looking forward to having the Board approve the high school handbook after having attended the first meeting of the 2024-25 year.

“Mainly I didn’t make any changes to it. Just minor things (like) wording. And so I got a chance to see how the Board worked, and I’d met some of them at the interview. But year, I got a chance to talk to a few community members, and with my background being that I’m from this area, it’s sad that the people I know here are the grandparents of the kids that are in the high school right now, because I’m a little bit more experienced than most of the people.”

The meeting will begin at 7pm in the High School Board Room. Raccoon Valley Radio will have results from the meeting tomorrow.
