A unique performance is happening tomorrow as part of an ongoing summer program in Jefferson.

Tomorrow is another edition of Tower Tunes Live from 12:15-12:30pm and it will involve the Greene County High School Vocal Department as Director David Heupel will reveal what high school musical will be performed this next March. Heupel tells Raccoon Valley Radio this idea started after he signed up to be one of this year’s Maestros for the Tower Tunes Live summer concerts.

“I’m always trying to look for a different way to reveal what it is (the musical). Because people are always asking, ‘What music? What’s it going to be?’ and ‘Well, I don’t know yet, you know, I can’t really say, I don’t know.’ And I thought, ‘Well I’m playing the bell tower on (August) the 14th, maybe I’ll do songs from that musical. And that will be our reveal.”

Heupel describes the public feedback that his teaser has been receiving once the announcement was made.

“It’s kind of exciting, just based on the feedback I got off the Facebook and Twitter posts from our vocal music pages. I got a lot of fun feedback from that, better than I thought. So I thought this would be fun and it’s more exciting knowing that people think it’s a pretty cool idea.”

Heupel will be playing the bells with songs from the musical and high school students will perform as well on the bell tower plaza. Heupel encourages everyone to bring a lunch, sit outside near the bell tower, enjoy the music and guess the musical that will be shown March 7th-9th, 2025.
