Thursday, August 8th

4:25am: Shawn Knudsen 32 of Jefferson was booked into the jail for domestic abuse assault 1st offense.

6:04am: A deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 600 block of Main Street, Scranton.

7:08am: A deputy investigated an alarm in the 600 block of Hills Avenue, Churdan.

8:18am: A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1200 block of W Avenue.

11:14am: A deputy, Jefferson Fire Department, Greene County Ambulance responded to a single vehicle accident on Jordan Avenue near 237th Street. Simon Jordan 18 of West Des Moines was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and lost control striking a tree. The vehicle was a total loss. Both the driver and passenger were transported by Greene County Ambulance with injuries. Jordan was cited for careless driving, failure to maintain control, failure to file SR-22, operating without liability insurance accident related, and driving while license suspended.

4:22pm: Deputies, Jefferson Fire Department, Iowa State Patrol, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident on Neola Avenue at 290th Street. Brandi Burrow 29 of Jefferson was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer heading Easton 290th Street. Burrow failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Bonnie Simpson 71 of Sac city who was traveling north on Neola Avenue. Simpson was driving a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. The estimated damage to the trailblazer is 5,000 dollars. The estimated damage to the Pathfinder is 15,000 dollars. 2 from the Trailblazer were transported with minor injuries to the Greene County Medical Center and 2 were transported to the Dallas County Hospital with injuries by Greene County Ambulance. This accident is still under investigation.

4:47pm: A deputy investigated an animal neglect complaint in the 100 block of Sunset Drive, Grand Junction.

6:35pm: The Sheriff, deputies, Jefferson Fire Department, Grand Junction Fire Department, and Greene County Ambulance searched for a missing person near 290th Street and Neola Avenue.

11:29pm: A deputy investigated a child custody issue in the 700 block of Eagle Street, Scranton.

Friday, August 9th

7:24am: A deputy assisted with cattle out on 305th Street near P Avenue.

9:33am: A deputy conducted a welfare check near Neola Avenue and 290th Street.

10:22am: Abby Farrell 21 of Carroll was booked into the jail for operating while intoxicated 1st offense.

10:32am: A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 700 block of Hill Street, Churdan.

11:16pm: Breanna Mahers 22 of Carroll was booked into the jail for possession of a controlled substance 1st offense and drug paraphernalia.

11:16pm: James Pena 26 of Jefferson was booked into the jail for possession of a controlled substance 1st offense and drug paraphernalia.

11:40pm: A deputy investigated a civil issue in the 100 block of Main Street, Cooper.

Saturday, August 10th

9:26am: A deputy investigated an assault in the 1900 block of 130th Street. A juvenile was charged with willful injury. Another juvenile was seriously injured and taken to the Emergency room by private vehicle.

12:45pm: The Sheriff, deputies, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue, and Greene County Ambulance were called to a single vehicle accident. Danny Klein Sr. 75 of Fort Dodge was riding a 1992 Harley Davidson and entered the east ditch hitting a driveway. Klein passed away from his injuries. The Harley Davidson was totaled.

3:34pm: A deputy and Jefferson Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident at 220th Street and M Avenue. Dakota Foster 18 of Jefferson lost control of a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix and entered the West ditch on M Avenue. The vehicle’s catalytic converter caught the dry grass on fire which started the car on fire. The vehicle was a total loss.

7:02pm: A deputy assisted with cattle out on 280th Street and J Avenue.

7:36pm: A deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 700 block of Walnut Street, Scranton.

9:41pm: Joshua Parrish 28 of Jefferson was booked into the jail for criminal mischief 5th degree.

Sunday, August 11th

2:34am: A deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 800 block of Chicago Street, Scranton.

5:59am: A deputy investigated a car deer accident near 200th Street and U Avenue. Matthew Meyer 31 of Fort Dodge struck a deer with a 2023 Dodge Ram. The estimated damage is 6,000 dollars.

11:20am: A deputy investigated a custody issue in the 100 block of Main Street, Cooper.

11:41am: A deputy and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1100 block of H Avenue. A juvenile was injured riding a dirt bike.

12:41pm: A deputy investigated an animal cruelty complaint on 257th Street near Neola Avenue.

6:52pm: A deputy assisted with a medical call in the 700 block of Walnut Street, Scranton.

9:44pm: A deputy assisted a motorist in the 400 block of 140th Street.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
