Jack Hansen will soon be moving west to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. A Greene County High School five sport athlete as a senior, he was an All-State football receiver and on three playoff teams. He bowled in the inaugural year for that sport here, and in the Spring, played soccer, golf, and long jumped on the track & field squad. The Rams qualified for State in soccer his freshman and junior seasons.
Not yet out the door, Raccoon Valley Radio caught up with the Greene County High School Male Ram of the Year for the 2023-24 school year and asked him what it means to him to be a Ram. “I don’t think I’d want it to be any other way, to be honest. Greene County is such a small place and you know everybody. There’s something special about it because I could name every kid in my class if you lined them up, and most of the adults I knew. It was just fun after any sporting event you see them out in the public and talk to them a little bit about how sports is going and how life’s going, and you know they have your back if you need anything. It’s just a great place to be and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
Hansen likes to be involved in a number of things, even trying out as a walk-on to the Cornhuskers football team earlier this Summer, although he did not get a call back. He’s the son of Todd and Shannon Hansen of Jefferson.
