Perry volleyball will have their first practice of the season today as they begin preparation for competitions to begin. Lynn Hulgan begins her first year as head coach for the Jayettes. Lynn thinks the team is in great shape thanks to the offseason work the girls put in. “Since we’ve been doing open gyms and I had a lot of participation from my returning JV and varsity team a lot of the practices are already getting pretty advanced.” She added they are going to try a different strategy with the eighth grade missing a coach. “We’re actually looking at kicking off the season with a couple of practices all as one and then we’re going to start splitting it pretty early on so that we can give our advanced teams a little bit more exposure and opportunity to hone in on their skills.”
The Jayettes are looking to improve from last year as they went 11-25. Perry opens the season in Rockwell City on September 7.
