The Federal Emergency Management Agency is extending a deadline for assistance for those affected by the May 21st tornado in Adair County.

The Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency says that housing and financial assistance through FEMA has been extended until August 23rd. The previous end date had been set for July 24th, but more help was needed and the deadline was pushed back. Those affected by the tornado and still needing to file for assistance will be able to do so by heading to the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at City Hall, which is open from 8am to 6pm Monday through Saturday.
