A college in Iowa is going to be honoring Perry’s longtime Principal Dan Marburger at a game in November.

The University of Iowa (U of I) is choosing to dedicate the Hawkeyes-Cornhuskers football game to Marburger. According to a press release, the college usually asks fans to nominate a local hero, but the Pioneer and the U of I already determined their candidate to be Marburger. 

Iowa Director of Athletics Chair Beth Goetz commented that an overwhelming majority of individuals contacted her to recognize Marburger, which ignited the decision to do so. The game is referred to as the “Heroes Game” and is set to kick off on November 29th at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
