A local law enforcement officer is warning drivers to be mindful of the tall crops around the state of Iowa.

Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante informs people that the corn continues to grow with the recent amount of precipitation. He describes that visibility is tough within the rural intersections. Infante reminds drivers to decrease speed in vehicles.

“Please make sure you slow down as you’re approaching those uncontrolled intersections. Make sure you’re looking both ways to see there’s no traffic. We don’t want to deal with really bad accidents.”

Infante notes that the height of the corn is at least six feet tall and will remain that height for the next six months. He adds that it helps a bit that the farmers aren’t in the field quite yet.
