More severe weather could be on the way later today.

According to the National Weather Service Greene, Guthrie and Dallas Counties are at enhanced risk for severe weather tonight. This is the category three of the National Weather Service five category severe weather potential scale. The primary risk is strong winds that could gust as high as 80 miles per hour and rainfall that could cause ponding on roadways. 

The National Weather Service is anticipating the peak of severe weather for the Raccoon Valley Radio area to be between 9pm and 1am. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team will continue to deliver live coverage of severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings in Greene, Guthrie and Dallas Counties. You can listen to the coverage on air, online at raccoonvalleyradio.com or on the free mobile app. The live coverage continues until the storms drop below severe levels or move out of our coverage area.
