The City of Perry is offering a friendly reminder about keeping grass at a manageable level.

The state of Iowa is receiving a good amount of rainfall causing grass to grow at a faster rate than normal. The City of Perry states that grass, weeds, or brushes over eight inches are permitted in residential, business, or commercial areas. The city explains that for agricultural areas, grass may not exceed 15 inches in height.

According to the city, people should mow everything to the curbline and the property owners are in charge of the land between fences and an alleyway. The city pinpoints that if the height of grass is over the limits on the first or third Wednesdays of every month, then they will mow it with a fee attached. The city will be monitoring grass situations until the end of October.
