Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about a number of topics. One of those was the 4-20 softball team and 2-20 baseball team having no seniors on either squad. “Obviously, our goal is to keep kids out for all year, and in the case of softball and baseball, sometimes five seasons that they’re available, and having that senior leadership and having that little more maturity and experience really goes a long way in helping out.”

He added, “Typically, if you’re senior and upper classmen laden, you’re going to be more competitive.” Coach Wright pointed to the recently completed State softball tournament where there were a lot of outstanding players as young as just out of eighth grade, so there are exceptions, but he’d like to see kids participate throughout their years of eligibility.
