Greene County head softball coach Tom Kennedy saw the 2024 Rams will just four games will losing 20, including dropping the last 11 of the season. The coach believes there is talent for the years ahead with no seniors in the lineup this season, and at least a dozen starters, perhaps more, vying for spots in the 2025 lineup.
An area the coach pointed to often comes with experience, he said, and that’s on defense. He pointed to times the Rams did not throw the ball when it needed to be thrown, or it was not thrown to the proper spot. Other times, the ball was thrown when it should not have been.
Due to injury, the Rams were without a 2023 starting shortstop, starting right fielder, and a likely pitching candidate. In addition, there were five or six freshmen in the starting lineup nearly all season long. The coach believes the experience from the past will help improve the win column in the future.
