The Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance (CIRTPA) is holding public information meetings around the state and is coming to Dallas County tomorrow.

CIRTPA is visiting different cities within Central Iowa to promote their Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. According to the organization, the action plan is a part of the Safe Streets for All program, which aims to prevent deaths and serious injuries for all users on the nation’s roadways. CIRTPA Executive Director Andrew Collings tells Raccoon Valley Radio that people will learn about crash history and safety transportation. He is encouraging the public to give their feedback during the meeting.

“Review the information and really provide their input as to the safety experience of their transportation network and the reason we’re doing that is we’re creating a safety action plan for the region and this information will be used to make that plan and eventually apply for future funding to fix the issues that we identify through the planning process.”

Collings wants to hear from residents and stakeholders about areas of concerns when it comes to safety in their communities. Two meetings will be happening in Dallas County tomorrow with one at the Adel Public Library, 303 10th Street, from 12-2pm and the other at Josh Davis Plaza, 1115 2nd Street, in Perry from 4-7pm. Collings says the events are free to attend.
