With no seniors on the 2024 Greene County High School baseball team, the junior class was looked to for leadership on the field and off. Six juniors started for the Rams on July 12 in the season ending first round Class 3A Substate loss in Alleman to third ranked North Polk. Camden Jacobs led off vs. the Comets with Gavyn Winters hitting second, Crew Conner third, Isaac Carman in the clean up spot, followed by Lane Fields and Noah Hinote.
Others in the lineup for the last game of the season were sophomores Adam Bills and Teagan Chisholm,, plus freshmen Jaron Jacobs and Kyle Stalder. Sophomore Nathan Towers and freshman Degan Miller also saw significant playing time this season on the varsity.
The Rams went 2-20 over and were 1-11 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. .
