The 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County presented their most recent donation to Stuart Police Department Community Programs (SPDCP) July 11th.

Member Kristen Crouthamel visited the Stuart Public Library before the Books and Badges program that Stuart Police Sergeant Katie Guisinger does, and presented a check for $14,400. Crouthamel says this is one of the few times a donation has been made to an organization in the southern part of the county, and encourages more individuals from the border area of Guthrie County to join.

“A majority of our membership is from Guthrie Center and Panora, but we have a handful of members from Jamaica, Bagley, Yale, Stuart (and) Casey, but it’s just a handful. Maybe 10 percent of our membership comes from those communities. But we have certainly donated money to programs in those communities, like the city parks, and the public libraries, and now the Stuart Police (Department) Community Programs. So if any women from those outlying communities would like to join us, certainly please reach out, because it’s a wonderful organization.”

SPDCP Board of Directors members Kaitlyn Bovinett and Lisa Sherman were also on hand for the hand off of the check. Guisinger has mentioned that the donation will go to helping make all the programs that are currently offered by SPDCP even better, and maybe allow for the addition of some new ones. Crouthamel explains that with this donation, 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County has donated nearly $375,000 since their inception in 2017.
