The next event in the City of Minburn will be taking place tonight.

The second Meet Me In Minburn concert is happening tonight at Meek Park, featuring the band Kick. The band is a group of three individuals, with lead singer and guitarist Jake Kemble. Kemble is from the Panora area and explains that he had a friend who was originally supposed to perform 11 years ago, but had to drop out, which gave him an opportunity.

“He reached out to me and got me connected with Megan Cline, who is in charge of the entertainment and I played a solo gig and from there I just became friends with Megan and I taught her son guitar lessons and just kept in touch over the years, and I’ve played there a couple of times now.”

Kemble comments that the venue is unique, especially with the skating rink set right in front of the stage, and recalls a time his concert became interactive.

“I think I brought my skateboard, and it was out in front of the rink. I have a wireless system for my guitar, so that I don’t have a cord that holds me down for my amplifier. I jumped on the skateboard and was riding around in circles with some kids, rocking out and that was pretty funny. I think people were cracking up, laughing and having fun.”

The night will start with a free will donation meal from the Friends of the Minburn Public Library at 5pm, before Jake and Kick take the stage at 7pm.
