The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

Farnsworth Group presented the board with a floor plan for the new criminal court building that’s being built in Adel. The organization shared a floor by floor schematic design showing pictures of the exterior featuring a good amount of windows, which was a high request. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office will be located underground with a separate area for convicts. The basement level also has hardened walls in case of a natural disaster emergency. The board voted for Turner Construction to move forward with the project.

Other items that were approved during the meeting included a pay application for Turner Construction in the amount of $1,702,624.59 for the new administration building in Adel. A public hearing was held to approve a resolution for the final plat of M Estates, a pay application in the amount of $75,237.44 for the courthouse restoration project, a New York University filming location agreement to happen in Dallas County and a request for the sheriff’s office to add a handicap accessible door button to the lobby area for people that are disabled.

The Secondary Roads Department awarded a River Oaks Storm sewer rehabilitation project to Alliance Construction Group for $736,520.30, which was approved. A dust control vendor permit was awarded to the company Dust Control, out of Cumberland, IA and an American Rescue Plan fund request for the F90 Pavement Rehabilitation project for $4,250,000 was approved.
