A sorority organization in Greene County recently honored one of his older members.

Carole Custer with Beta Tau Delta says Jan McDermott was recognized for her 50 years of membership. The non-profit organization raises funds through donations that are used for various projects that support children and youth in the county. Custer notes that McDermott has held every office in Beta Tau Delta and has been the chair of the main fundraiser, the Charity Ball in Jefferson, during the winter seasons. 

Beta Tau Delta has been in existence for over 100 years.
