Dallas Center – Grimes baseball learned about their bracket on Thursday afternoon in 4A play and the Mustangs were able to grab the top seed in Class 4A Substate 2 action. The Mustangs are currently 30-2 on the season.

The Mustangs are the top overall seed in their six team bracket and will be playing Sioux City West who is currently 2-30 on the season. That game will be played on Friday, July 12th.  Should the Mustangs win that game, they would get an automatic bye and then would advance to the championship where they would take on one of the four of Sioux City East, West Des Moines Valley, Council Bluffs – Abraham Lincoln, and Ankeny. The championship game will be at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 17th.

Should DCG make the state tournament they would be playing at Kernals Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. The dates for 4A are July 23rd for quarterfinals, July 25th for semifinals, and July 26th for the finals.

Mustang baseball will have about a week and a half of the regular season left before they get ready for postseason play.
