The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council heard from City Clerk Kris Arrasmith on the turkey vulture mitigation plan, in which she shared Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Jeremy King had taken two buzzards to place as effigies, with future placement of the effigies yet to be determined to serve as a deterrent from settling in town. She continued that there had been a great amount of participation in the city wide garage sales, with 21 sites that registered for the day.

Arrasmith mentioned that the city wide clean up had record participation this year, with 85 people that signed up. She added that most everything was able to be picked up on Friday despite the high temperatures, with the rest picked up the following Monday.
