In the June School Board meeting for Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center, the Guthrie Center Board decided to try adding a new sports team.

Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that the addition of a competitive dance team was put on the meeting agenda, and discussed. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why it was a topic for the meeting.

“Just taking a look at that, we have a group of girls and boys that are interested in possibly joining the dance team, so the Board went ahead and approved the addition.”

AC/GC is the only school district of the three in Guthrie County that does not have a competitive dance team, with the teams from West Central Valley and Panorama having phenomenal individual and team performances the last several years at the state level. Rasmussen mentions that the district will now search for a coach/sponsor for the team, to try and make sure that they can go ahead and get the program started.
