The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.

The Board opened a total of four bids for the County’s emergency medical services request for proposal. Bids were received from Adair Fire and Rescue, Midwest Ambulance Service of Iowa, and the Cities of Panora and Stuart. After discussing, the Board decided to come up with questions for the bidders and submit them to Board Chair Supervisor JD Kuster to send to representatives for the bidders.

The other Supervisors will submit their questions to Kuster by noon Friday, so that the representatives of the bidding entities may have an opportunity to review the questions, and attend next week’s regular session. The Board then approved the 2024-25 budget appropriations in a 4-1 vote, with Supervisor Brian Johnson as the lone no vote. For all departments but the Sheriff’s Office, 50 percent of the budget will be appropriated, and the Sheriff’s Department will receive 25 percent of their budget to begin the fiscal year.
