The community of Greenfield is hopeful to provide answers following the devastation with the tornado that swept through on May 21st.

Greenfield Native and Iowa House Representative for District 23 Ray Sorensen says that there will be a town meeting coming up on Sunday for the city to get together and learn more on what’s going on, and hear some answers to questions they may have. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of what can be expected.

“Just getting together in a big group to kind of go through all the steps, go through what’s needed. You know, have groups like the Red Cross and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and maybe insurance companies there, you know, to answer some questions, answer some tough questions. You know, ‘Why isn’t this happening? Why am I not getting approved for this? I’m getting these denial letters, what are my next steps?’”

Sorensen mentions that it may also be a time for some to finally take a minute to slow down, and process what has happened on multiple levels, because many may not have had the time to do so yet. He adds that the meeting will be at the Nodaway Valley High School Auditorium, and will include local and community leaders, along with some representatives from different organizations.
