The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team has found recent success and Head Coach Jason Book identifies areas to attribute that from.

The Tigers have won six of their last eight games, reaching 11 wins on the season with nine games remaining. Since May 31st, ADM has went 6-2 with losses to Des Moines Lincoln (7-3) and Boone (5-1).

Book points to the improvement on offense emphasizing that the Tigers are doing a much better job getting balls in play and scoring when runners are on base. The second area that Book has seen dramatic development in is pitching. He says that it was hard to get into a rhythm at the beginning of the season with players involved in other sports, but even during that time, they never lacked effort.

“Those guys put their nose to the grind and kept working hard, and we’re starting to see that reward now as we move deeper into the season.”

ADM sits at 11-10 overall (6-4 inside the Raccoon River Conference) having last played on Thursday, beating Carroll 6-4. Other wins over the last eight games include Algona, Bondurant-Farrar, Winterset, Carlisle, and Gilbert. The Tigers are off today and will host North Polk tomorrow night at 7pm in Adel.
