Several people may have noticed a change to how law enforcement in Greene County publishes its calls for service log.

Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says the police department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office have installed the new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio they were just a handful of law enforcement agencies who were not using this system that has been implemented for years across the state.

Clouse acknowledges that while this new program doesn’t give as much information as what the police department and the sheriff’s office had before, it still gives some details. He points out CAD has made reporting more time efficient. Clouse says on an average weekend report, it could take him as long as 90 minutes to put together if he is left alone to do that, but now with CAD it takes just a few minutes.
