The latest Adel City Council meeting was held on Tuesday, where a review for the city’s design guidelines was approved.

The council approved a resolution to adopt the Adel Design Guidelines prepared by RDG Planning & Design. Other items on the agenda that were approved include a request for quote for engineering services for the Rapids Street project, the first reading for a zoning ordinance repealing and replacing the Southbridge Plat 8 Planned Unit Development Ordinance for a property located on Highway 169 and Bradfield Street between the City of Adel and Dallas County. 

The council also approved several members to fill vacancies for different departments. Dan Naveli filled a vacancy for the Adel Board of Adjustment, Deb Bengston and Maria Steele were appointed to two positions for the Parks and Recreation Board, Leslie Banwart and Liesl Chaplin filled openings for the Adel Library Board, Rich Hughes and Vonz Odem were appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission Board, and Jerry Adams was appointed for the Planning & Zoning Commission.
