The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council approved the draft of their proposal for Guthrie County’s proposed countywide emergency medical service (EMS). Mayor Curtis Thornberry mentioned that the service would only happen if residents of the county voted to accept it in the November General elections. With the proposal now heading to the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors, if it is accepted by the Supervisors contract negotiations will begin. City Administrator Lisa Grossman added that they would only be looking to continue serving their current area at this time, and not grow.

The Council also discussed allowing expanded use of streets for utility terrain vehicles inside city limits. A draft was presented to the council members, and they agreed that recreational use on residential streets would be a good step. The topic will come up once again during meetings and public hearings, before an ordinance can be added/changed.

The Council then approved a request to close city streets and Highway 44 for Panorama Days, and to begin using DRAGOS for cybersecurity purposes.
