The final votes from the June Primaries were canvassed at Tuesday’s Dallas County Board of Supervisors meeting.

County Auditor Julia Helm joined the board to finalize the votes where there were 75,296 registered voters and total ballots amounted to 4,718. There were no changes from the unofficial results following June 4th.

Other items on the agenda that were approved at Tuesday’s meeting included a recommendation for the company Turner Construction, of West Des Moines, to be selected as the Manager At Risk (MAR) for construction of the new Criminal Court Building in Adel. A couple of resolutions were approved including abating mobile home taxes, and a military exemption reimbursement. A public hearing was held for the first reading to amend an ordinance for Chapter 21 for Emergency Management Services to utilize a program for billing recruitment, with the Board approving the first reading. The second reading will be done at next week’s meeting. Finally, a Human Services Campus Emergency Operations Center Audio/Visual upgrades were approved with AVI Systems Inc., of Urbandale as the contractor.

Dallas County Engineer Al Miller gave an update. He said the Secondary Roads Department has finished grading the northern portion for the Dawson road project on County Road P58 and that new paving will be installed in August.
