The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team won their fourth consecutive game on Monday after a faceoff with Gilbert.

The Tigers won the game by a final score of 4-2. ADM struck first in the top of the first inning when leadoff batter Cameran Smith was hit by a pitch to advance to first base. She later to come in to score thanks to an RBI Single from Kaylee Smith as ADM led 1-0 after the top half. In the bottom of the first, Gilbert responded after leadoff batter Tovaria Smith was walked and advance in on an RBI Double from Emma Lattrell to tie the game 1-1 at the end of one. The ADM Tigers took the led in the top of the second inning when Aniston Tollari reached first base on a single, then was hit in from Cameran Smith on a RBI Triple to give ADM a 2-1 advantage.

In the top of the fourth inning Lauren Hagedorn blasted a two-run homer to score Macy Person to extend ADM’s lead to 4-1. The bottom of the fourth saw Clara Newton scored after a double from Taylor Puck to inch closer, as Gilbert trailed 4-2. No more runs would come across as that was the final score of the game.

Winning pitcher was ADM’s Lauren Hagedorn as she pitched five innings, allowed two hits, and struck out five batters. ADM’s Cameran Smith started on the mound as she pitched two innings, allowed two hits, walked two batters, and struck out one. On Gilbert’s side, Newton pitched all seven innings, allowed nine hits, four runs, walked one batter, and struck out two.

ADM improves to 11-6 overall (6-2 inside the Raccoon River Conference) while Gilbert falls to 7-5 overall (1-5 RRC). ADM will have today off and will be back on the road tomorrow in Boone, and Gilbert also the day off and will host Carroll tomorrow.
