The Adel City Council will meet tonight in regular session to discuss guidelines for the City of Adel Design, among other topics.

The council will be reviewing a resolution to adopt the Adel Design Guidelines prepared by RDG Planning & Design, and approval by the Adel Historic Preservation Commission. Other items on the agenda seeking approval at tonight’s meeting include assigning people to the job openings on the Historic Preservation Commission Board, the Board of Adjustment, the Adel Parks & Recreation Board, the Planning & Zoning Commission, and the Adel Library Board.

Additional items seeking approval on the agenda are a request for a quote for Engineering Services for the Rapids Streets Project, a zoning ordinance for replacing the Southbridge Plat 8 Planned Urban Development for a property located at the intersection of Iowa Highway 169 and Bradfield Street, City of Adel, and Dallas County. Also, a resolution approving the 2023-2024 budget transfers will be considered for approval, and setting a public hearing date for the proposed vacation of right-of-way along Bradfield Street within Southbridge Plat 7. 

The meeting will take place tonight at Adel City Hall, 301 S. 10th Street, in Adel at 6pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will have a recap of the meeting later this week.
