The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session Monday Night.

The Council will hold a joint meeting with the Utilities Board beginning at 5:30pm. They will discuss an update on the water tower, capital projects improvement committee, alternative utility/water sources due to cost structure, insurance offerings, camera status and legion renovations. Then the Council will enter into the regular meeting at 6pm.

The Council will consider for approval outdoor liquor licenses for Johnie’s Tap for Good Egg Days and a party on July 20th, and for Ruby’s Unlimited, LLC for Good Egg Days. They will also consider for approval recommendations from the hotel/motel tax committee, a resolution pertaining to cigarette permits for fiscal year July 1, 2024 to June 30th, 2025, and hear an update from Stuart Rescue Director Sean Bovinett.

The Council will also consider for approval public hearing dates to sell city owned real estate, a partial payment to McAninch Corporation for $809,207.47, and pool department wages. They will consider an ordinance to amend the revised code of ordinances, a resolution approving a payment to Aust Hotels, LLC, transient merchant permits, and then hear from Mayor Dick Cook on the street department and mowing.

The joint meeting will begin at 5:30pm, with the regular meeting to follow at 6pm in the Council Chambers in City Hall. For those unable to attend in person, there is a digital option available via the City’s YouTube page.
