The West Central Valley Wildcat baseball team traveled to Van Meter to take on the Van Meter Bulldogs in varsity baseball action. The Bulldogs came out ready to play, holding the Wildcats scoreless in the first while notching in 9 of their own runs in the bottom of the first. Staring down a 9-0 deficit, the Wildcats did not give up faith, notching in 3 runs in the second. However, the Bulldogs continued to respond, notching in 5 more runs in the bottom of the second and 3 more in the third. The Wildcats would score their final two runs in the top of the fourth, but the Bulldogs had done enough damage to defeat the Wildcats 17-5.
