The Stuart Library is preparing to get their summer reading program started.

Librarian Mary McColloch says that they will be having a fun event with Pop Up Games coming to the library on June 19th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they will have a fun game time in the library from 5-7pm, where families can sign up for the summer reading program.

“That is when parents can come in and register their children for the summer library program, and all of our registrations this year are going to be in person. And so, when they come in, they can sign up, they’ll get the information, they’ll get our schedules, and then Pop Up Games is going to have putt putt golf here, and they can play a free game of putt putt golf. It’ll be nine holes in the library.”

McColloch mentions that parents can register their children anytime after the event, but that it will have to be done in person, in the library. She adds that on Fridays starting on June 7th to August 23rd, they will have a “Drop Everything and Read” hour from 3-4pm in the library, for children to come in and read, whether it’s a book from the library or their own collection. McColloch explains that all this is in preparation for when the summer reading program begins in July.
