The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team garnered their sixth win of the season Monday as they defeated Bondurant-Farrar thanks to phenomenal pitching from Lauren Hagedorn.

Monday was Youth Appreciation Night in Adel as the Tigers won by a final score of 2-1 against the Bluejays as both the runs for ADM were scored in the second inning. Neither team scored in the first but the Tigers’ Ellis Smith was able to single followed by another single from Olivia Wyant to put runners on first and second. It was Junior Aniston Tollari who blasted a two-run RBI Double to bring in Smith and Wyant for a 2-0 lead at the end of two. The Bluejays responded in the third inning when Junior Peyton West was hit by a pitch then later came into to score after an error was issued to Wyant for overthrowing the ball to Kaylee Smith over at first base to allow West to come across home plate. The game was 2-1 at the end of the third and great pitching from both sides kept the score until it went final.

Hagedorn was the winning pitcher for the Tigers as she pitched seven innings, allowed one hit, one run, but struck out 10 batters. For the Bluejays, starting pitcher Jackie Baas went six innings, allowed five hits, two runs, walked one batter, and struck out six.

The win puts ADM at 6-4 overall (4-1 inside the Raccoon River Conference) while Bondurant-Farrar falls to 9-2 overall (4-2 RRC). Next game for the Bluejays is tonight as they continue their road trip in Knoxville. The Tigers are off today and will travel to Winterset tomorrow for another conference game against the Huskies.
