The Dallas Center-Grimes School District is celebrating with not one but two state championships in soccer.
Both DCG Boys and Girls Soccer Teams are coming off recent state championships to cap off exciting seasons. The Mustang boys played Saturday morning after they defeated number one seed Des Moines Hoover 3-2 with an overtime goal by senior Brogan Fuller to be crowned the Class 3A Champions. DCG finished the season 17-4 overall and had 11 seniors apart of the team this year.
On the girls side, the Mustangs were seeking a third consecutive title as they took the field Saturday evening. DCG used a big second half scoring five goals to secure the 6-1 victory over North Polk. The win cemented DCG as a three-time champion in Class 2A. The Mustangs finished the year going 18-3 overall and graduated 10 seniors.
