A project will not be done this year at Linduska Field in Jefferson.
Greene County School District Superintendent Brett Abbotts says the new restrooms at Linduska Field will not happen this year.
“The bathroom project we are going to cancel. We ran into a lot of different issues there in terms of getting that all pulled together.”
However, Abbotts points out this decision led to coming up with a strategy that devise plans for when updates or improvements could be made to any and all facilities within the district. He notes that a staff-wide survey was done where 76 people responded with their goals, needs, desires and wishes for not only the athletic and competition facilities, but also the interiors and exteriors of the three school buildings, along with fine arts and activity areas too.
“More or less a range of a plan of what are we doing next and how are we continuing to update our facilities to make sure that our kids have excellent places to compete but also excellent places to learn too. So we’re kind of trying to balance both of those conversations because we’re here to learn first and then we’ll also make sure that our activities and our facilities are quality for everyone.”
Abbotts adds that the next steps are to compile the information into a working plan so that items such as the restrooms at Linduska Field have a process to see projects to completion.
