Students from a Dallas County school competed and placed well in the SkillsUSA State Leadership Competition.

Four students in the Industrial Technology and Engineering Department from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School recently displayed their know-how in the SkillsUSA Competition, and  the students were Penn Weieneth, Wesley Royer, Chase Simons, and Sydney Kuhse. According to the high school, Weieneth participated in the Cabinetry competition being asked to build a full-size base kitchen cabinet with a drawer and door in a six and a half hour time frame.

For Royer, Simons, and Kuhse, they all were apart of the individual carpentry competition being delivered a set of plans and materials to build a miniature Morton Building from scratch in seven hours. ADM announced that Simons finished in second place, while Royer captured the top spot in the state, qualifying him for the National Competition this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.
