The Guthrie Center School Board will meet in session tonight.
The Board will hold a public hearing regarding the 2023-24 amended certified budget, then begin the regular meeting. They will hear a special presentation on the DECA trip, then hear administrative and financial reports. The Board will then consider for approval the resignations of Ron Lower as a part-time High School Industrial Technology Teacher and Eric Coop as a High School Special Education Teacher, and contract recommendations for Daniel Woods as a High School Social Studies Teacher, 2024-25 activity sponsors and extra duty contracts, and Activities Director Taylor Morris.
The Board will discuss upcoming dates including the baccalaureate and awards night on May 15th at 6pm, commencement and graduation on May 19th at 1pm and the June regular Board meeting on June 19th at 7pm. They will then consider the 2023-24 amended budget and the Adair/Guthrie Counties mitigation plan, along with a Heartland Area Education Agency room rental agreement.
The Board will then consider for approval the Class of 2025 trip to Washington D.C., using safety grant funds to purchase phones and cabling, the printer/copier lease, a computer purchase for students and staff and the disposal of some stand mixers and computers. The meeting will begin at 7pm in the Guthrie Center High School Media Center. Raccoon Valley Radio will have results from the meeting later in the week.
