The Greene County Historical Society dazzled attendees Friday morning at the historical museum during the Java and Juice program.
The Historical Society was promoting an upcoming series of events and activities surrounding the popular doll, Barbie. About 400 Barbie dolls were on display inside the museum that range from 1959 to the 1980s. Sue Richardson said another donation of 600 Barbies were recently given to the museum and she added those will be on display at the former Sensible Chic building in June for people to see.
Margaret Hamilton mentioned an open house at the museum will be on June 15th from 9am-noon and the Sierra Theatre will be showing the movie “Barbie” again the first full weekend in June. During the program, it also was mentioned that a music video starring Dan and Emily Rohner as Ken and Barbie will be released online, produced by the local studio, Art of Aries.
At the closing of the program, everyone sang a song about Barbie, with Rick Morain accompanying on piano.
