The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track & Field teams have several athletes that have qualified to the state competition.

The Tigers participated in the 3A Coed State Qualifying Meet in Atlantic on Thursday. Athletes and relays have to finish in the top two spots to advance to state.

ADM is sending the Boys 800 Meter Sprint Medley team as they raced to the top spot with a time of 1:34.92. The Tiger’s other relays that qualified for state include the 4×110 meter hurdles, the 4×200 meters, who accomplished a new school record by running 1:26.90, the 4×100, and the 4×400.

For individual events, Senior Zach Lohmann (55.13) finished second in the 400 meter hurdles, Senior Brevin Doll ran a new ADM School record of 10.58 to win the 100 meters, and another school record in the 200 meters at 21.43, putting him first as well. Junior Corbin Reed (15.43) and Senior Luke Krantz (15.75) went one-two in the 110 meter hurdles, and Junior Cameron Forgy claimed the top spot in the 400 meters (52.86). Senior Drew Hickey placed second (160-10) in the Boys Discus Throw with Junior Kyler Chapman winning the Boys High Jump (6-03.00). The Tigers finished first with 209 points and had 19 events qualify for state, a new school record.

For the girls, the 4×800 meter relays finished in first place running a 9:47.99 and the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle relay team came out victorious running 1:06.46. Junior London Warmuth won the high jump (5-06.00) with Junior Aniston Tollari second (17-06.00) behind Storm Lake’s Mackenzie Harder in the long jump. Sophomore Lauren Hagedorn took first in the discus with a 129-00.

Once all the track meets conclude, more ADM athletes could qualify for state. Stay tuned for updated results. The state competition will be May 16th-18th.
