Perry did well last night in a couple of events at the North Polk District site.  Eight schools were in action for the Track and Field State Qualifying meet.  The Jayettes Distance Medley consisting of Erickson, Moore, Nehring, and Myers took second place and will get a chance to race in Des Moines next week.  Owen Myers will be making his second straight appearance at the State meet in the 400M Hurdles after his second place finish.  The Bluejays and Jayettes could still send more athletes to Des Moines if their “wild card” times are fast enough against other athletes across the state.  Today or tomorrow the IHSAA and IGHSAU should announce all the participants in the 2024 Iowa State Track and Field meet at Drake Stadium.
