The Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team coverage was activated on 107.9FM KKRF at 6:55pm Tuesday evening.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 6:45pm for southwestern Guthrie and northwestern Adair County. The main threats with the warning included 60 mile per hour wind gusts and rain.
During the live coverage at 7pm, a radar indicated thunderstorm was located over the city of Adair, and was moving east at 35 miles per hour, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour. In Stuart, there were strong winds from the southwest and with heavy rainfall.
The warning expired at 7:15pm. Four Raccoon Valley Radio staff were involved with the coverage. As a reminder, Severe Weather Action Team brings live coverage of severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings in Guthrie, Greene and Dallas counties until the storms move out of the coverage area or drop below severe levels.
