After all three matches at the Nevada Tournament scheduled for May 4 were cancelled due to standing rain water, Greene County resumes its boys’ soccer schedule tonight. Coach Carl Behne’s Rams are 7-2 this season and they’ll host 1-11 Grand View Christian (Des Moines) at 5:30 p.m. at Linduska Field in Jefferson. Due to a possible weather system moving in, the teams will play Varsity first, then have Senior Night introductions, followed by JV, weather permitting. Seniors are Cody Allen, Kolby Angell, Nathan Behne, Zeke Binkley, Landon Carstens, Gabe Ebersole, Manuel Flores, Gesser Guttieres, Jack Hansen, and Brynley Ruzicka.
Not only are the records of the two teams quite different, so are the offenses. The Thunder have scored just three goals in 12 matches while the Rams have found the nets 54 times in only nine contests.
There are two more regular season matches on the schedule including at home vs. Nevada tomorrow night. The last match of the regular season is set for 5:30 p.m. this Friday in Wall Lake vs. East Sac County.
